The roasted rice gives it that warm toasty smell the second the bag hits hot water. It's smooth enough to drink without any sweetener, which I didn't expect from a green tea. My mornings are better with this in the mug.

I drink this every afternoon instead of coffee now, and the roasted rice keeps it from tasting too grassy like other green teas I've tried. The boxed teabags are convenient enough that I keep a few in my desk drawer at work.

The toasty roasted rice really comes through, and it's not bitter like the plain green teas I've tried. Steeped a bag for about two minutes and the whole kitchen smelled like genmai.
