Category: Loose Leaf Tea

Description

A top-notch, rare, 1st harvest green tea from Yame, Japan, with deep umami, delicate sweetness, and a buttery finish. In contrast with most classic senchas (green teas), which are cultivated under the full sun, Gyokuro is grown carefully in the shade. A lot of effort goes into growing Gyokuro, and tea farmers must shade the entire green tea plantation for 20-30 days before harvesting this prized tea!

Ava Z. ★★★★★

That first steep hit me with a sweetness I wasn't expecting from a green tea, and the mouthfeel really is as buttery as described. I've already gone through half the bag in a week just sipping it slowly in the mornings.

Evelyn ★★★★★

Brewed this for the first time this morning and the deep umami hit is unlike any sencha I've tried, almost savory like a broth but with that delicate sweetness underneath. I love that it's a rare first harvest from Yame, and the buttery finish makes me slow down and actually savor each cup instead o

Steven Z. ★★★★★

The sweetness lingers long after each sip, and that buttery finish is unlike any sencha I’ve tried before. Brewed it cool for about two minutes and the umami just coats your whole mouth. Definitely worth the splurge for a first harvest treat.
